How does the double post merger option work?
If a user posts a new thread and makes multiple times a new post in this thread in a short time (so called "double posting") these posts will be merged when no other user posted in the thread in that time.
Can a post be moved to a different thread?
Yes, this option is possible for all Moderators.
But this option has nothing to do with the double post merger option.
Can threads be merged?
Threads can be merged by moving all posts from one thread to another thread.

So does that mean that I can move all post in a thread, including the 1st post to a new thread? I'm a little confused on that part. Is the original post considered a thread or a post?

Yes, you can. The original post will be a normal post.
Install Pimped-Fusion on a test site and test this option
