Upgrading From 7.00 to 8.00

Isn't it possible everytime there is an upgrade, only to include the php files that have been changed since the previous edition? Cause I made (and I guess others did as well) some changes on various pages. And everytime there is an upgrade, I have to make those changes again, cause the upgrade requires to upload all the files again so my changes get overwritten. Or just tell in a text files which pages are actually changed.

And if you want to the the exact code changes I can give you access to the SVN
